Baltic ferry Regina Seaways resumes journey after 'fire'

A Lithuanian-hailed ship conveying 335 individuals in the Baltic Sea is en route to its goal after reports of a fire on board. The Regina Seaways was on the way from Kiel, Germany, to Lithuania's Klaipeda. The ship's administrator DFDS denied there was a fire or impact in the engine compartment, talking just of specialized issues. Every one of the travelers are said to be protected. The ship has restarted its motor and is to be joined by maritime boats, the Lithuanian barrier service said. The fire apparently started while the Regina Seaways was in Russian selective monetary waters off the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. A DFDS representative later told Reuters: "There was vibration and there was smoke, however no fire was taken note." Lithuania's military said its vessels were heading towards the ship to go with it to Klaipeda. Russian authorities are likewise engaged with the activity, reports say.
